CM lauds the contribution of employees

Prof Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister gave a clarion call to the employees to implement the policies and programmes of state government in letter and spirit so that common man could be benefited. He said that the present government was the government of common man. He was addressing ‘Ek Shaam – Mukhya Mantri Ke Naam’, a thanks giving function organized by NGOs Federation of district Hamirpur, at Hamirpur late last evening. He said that employees were the back bone of the State Government who had been rendering yeoman service towards the development of the State.

Chief Minister said that employees deliver the goods and benefits to the common man and play a significant role in bringing laurels to the state. He said that state emerged as the best governed state which could be possible only with the sincere and dedicated implementation of policies and programmes envisioned by the state for different sections of the society. He said that the State Government had maintained cordial relations with its employees and solved all their genuine problems by sitting across the table to sort out the issues. He said that on coming to power the State Government had re-instated the employees victimized by previous government to give new start to the government and employees relationship in the governance.

Prof. Dhumal said that it was common mans, ‘kisaan-baagwan, Karamchari-Mazdoor varg, mahila varg-dalit varg and yuva varg’ government at the helm of affairs in the State and all seven categories were being facilitated with one or the other scheme. He said that State had released 20 percent interim relief to its employees pending implementation of the pay commission recommendations. He said that entire pay arrear had been released to the employees while neighbouring states had released only 30 percent of the same. He said that all benefits due to the employees had been released well in time.

Chief Minster said that the state had increased budgetary allocations under Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan from 11 percent to 25 percent and Rs. 965 crore were being spent during current financial year on concentrated development of the scheduled caste dominated areas, while the previous Congress government had made provisions of Rs. 271 crore out of which the entire budget had not been spent. He said that all under privileged sections of the society were being given added priority so that they were brought at par with other sections of the society.

Prof. Dhumal criticized the UPA Government for making life of common man difficult due to constant price rise in essential commodities. He said that frequent increase in prices had disturbed the budget of not even poor



but middle class families as well. He criticized the decision of Centre to allow FDI in the country which would affect petty traders in the country and large number of people would be unemployed.

Chief Minister was also presented a draft of Rs. 51,000 by the Opthomologists Association of the district as contribution towards Chief Minister’s Relief Fund on the occasion.

Shri Joginder Verma, Chairman, HP State Buildings and Construction Workers Welfare Board, thanked the Chief Minister for the record benefits provided to state employees. He said that financial benefits worth over Rs. 7400 crore had been disbursed to state employees by BJP government during its present term.

Shri Surender Thakur, President, State NGOs Federation, said that no demand of the employees was pending with the government as every section of employees had been benefited. He said that increase in daily wages was a historical enhancement in the daily wages in the history of the State, which was increased from Rs. 75 to Rs. 100 in first go and later increased to Rs. 150. He detailed out the benefits released to different categories of employees during past four years. He said that every benefit was released on the analogy of Punjab State.

Shri Roshan Lal, District NGOs President, proposed vote of thanks. Shri Arvind Modgil, General Secretary, District Hamirpur NGOs Federation, welcomed the Chief Minister, and thanked him for all the benefits provided to the employees during his present term, which was a record in the history of the employees in the State. He said that all pending promotions in different departments had also been carried which had benefited thousands of employees in the State.

Shri Ishwar Dass Dhiman, Education Minister, Shri Baldev Sharma, Smt. Urmil Thakur, MLAs, Shri M.C.Parmar, CMD, Ex-Servicemen Welfare Corporation, Shri Narender Atri, President, State BJYM, Shri Pyare Lal Sharma, Chairman, APMC and State President, BJP Kisan Morcha, Shri Ghanshyam Sharma, Vice Chairman, State Employees and Pensioners Welfare Board, Shri Des Raj Sharma, President, District Hamirpur BJP, Shri Adarsh Kant, President, Hamirpur BJP Mandal, Shri Rajender Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Shri Madhusudan Sharma, Superintendent of Police, other senior officers and leaders of different departmental employees union were present on the occasion.
