Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister today laid the foundation stones and inaugurated the developmental projects worth Rs. 70 crore in Una assembly segment of Una district today. He performed foundation stone laying ceremonies of modern bus stand to be constructed in Una at a cost of Rs. 50.48 crore, additional building block of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Una to be constructed a cost of Rs. 2.50 crore, Rs. 1.40 lakh upgradation of Outdoor Mini Stadium at Basdehra, Rs. 82,000 Fatehwal bridge, widening of Pukhru-Jakhera-Behdala-Chattara road upto Trishma resort to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 5.13 crore, widening of Mehatpur-Fatehwal-Babhaour Sahib road. He also dedicated Kalyan Bhawan constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.58 crore, Rs. 1.35 crore Girls Hostel of ITI, Una, Rs. 2.51 crore Library and Multipurpose Hall in Government College, Una, Rs. 35 lakh Ambedkar Bhawan at Basdehra and Nagar Panchayat Park at Santoshgarh,
Addressing a mammoth public meeting at Una Chief Minister said that the State Government had not only fulfilled the promises made during last assembly elections but had even performed beyond benefiting all sections of the society. He said that Rs. 300 crore had been provided for various developmental works in district Una during last four and a half years.
Chief Minister said that Rs. 282 crore were spent on channelization of Swan river phase-II and 7260 hectares of land reclaimed. He said that tenders worth Rs. 50 crore had been invited for the third phase of Swan Channelization. He said that a plan of Rs. 600 crore had been formulated for channelising 73 tributaries of Swan river which would make 6606 hectares of land cultivable benefiting agriculturists of the district. He said that work on Rs. 90 crore Bangana-Dhaneta tunnel would be started soon.
Prof. Dhumal said that Himachal Pradesh had emerged as a role model of development during last four and a half years and as a result, State had received 71 awards of National and International standard. He said that Himachal Pradesh had emerged as Education Hub where qualitative education was being imparted to the youth. He said that the Government had implemented various innovative schemes in education sector. Atal School Uniform Scheme had been launched in the State under which two pairs of uniform were being provided to each student of government schools from 1st to 10th standard besides providing them Rs. 100 each as stitching charges. He said that this had benefited as many as 9,27,2056 students of the State and added that as many as 38,000 students in Una were being benefited under the Yojna. He said that Laptops were being provided to as many as 4000 students who had topped in
matriculation examination. Besides, 370 students of district Una who had topped in 10th class were being provided laptops. He said that under Mukhyamantri Vidhayarthi Swasthya Yojna, medical examination of all the students studying in government schools were being done free of cost.
Chief Minister said that 16.31 lakh ration card holders were being provided subsidized ration and subsidy worth Rs. 536 crore was provided on it during last four and a half years. He said that Rs. 64 crore were spent under Atal Bijali Bachat Yojna under which four CFL each were provided to the domestic electricity consumers. He said that around 2.50 lakh people had been benefited under Atal Swasthya Sewa Yojna.
Prof. Dhumal said that the State Government had given pay scales on analogy of Punjab State to its employees and had even paid the arrear due to them. He said that addition to this the benefit of time scale of 4-9-14 and Grade Pay had also been released to the employees and added that five percent Pension allowance had also been increased for retired government employees in the age group of 65-80 years.
Chief Minister also distributed laptops to 102 students of district Una who had topped in matric examination.
Prof. Dhumal was presented cheque of Rs. 21,000 by District NGO Federation, Rs. 11,000 each by Clerical Employees Federation, Una and Technical Employees of ITI, Una, Rs. 5100 by Joint Kanungo and Patwari Federation and Rs. 2100 by State Pump Operators Association towards Chief Minister Relief Fund.
Shri Satpal Singh Satti, State BJP President and MLA from Una welcomed the Chief Minister to his home segment and thanked him for providing liberal funds for undertaking unprecedented development in Una district. He said that the BJP Government had spent crores of rupees on channelization of Swan River which had proved a boon to the farmers of the area.
