As many as 1760 Lok Mintra Kendras had been set up in the State to provide better and speedy services to the people of rural areas at their door-steps. This was stated here today by Sh. P.C. Dhiman, Principal Secretary, Science, Information and Technology here today.

He disclosed that so far 14,51,006 electricity Bills, 73,502 water bills and 4158 bills of telephones had been deposited through these Kendra’s in the State besides other services being made availble. He said that 35 additional services would also be introduced through these centres soon.

Sh. Dhiman said that 3366 Lok Mitra Kendra’s were being set up through private agencies in 3234 panchayats of the State adding that approval had been given to set up such kendras in urban areas too by the State Government. He said that services as monthly returns of Excise and Taxation department and monthly passes of HRTC would also be introduced through these centres soon.
