CM inaugurates Shimla Live Programme

Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister said that Himachal Pradesh has vivid culture, languages but depict a unique picture of unity in diversity. He said that it was the treasurer of rich culture in fact. He was speaking on the occasion of launching Shimla Live programme by the Doordarshan Kendra Shimla today.

He congratulated Doordarshan Kendra for coming out with an innovative programme which would go a long way in preserving the rich cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh.

He said that Doordarshan Shimla was a strong media of the communication of information and other aspects as it had reach to 80 percent population in the State.

Prof. Dhumal said that Doordarshan was a powerful media of creating awareness and entertainment of the viewers. He said that the time of telecast from Doordarshan Kendra Shimla needed to be enhanced so as to cater the people of the State with happenings around.

He expressed hope that the Shimla Live would prove to be a milestone in Doordarshan Shimla programmes besides giving opportunity to the artists to exhibit their talent.

He congratulated the Doordarshan Kendra for launching the programme and wished them a success in all their endeavours.

Sh. Jaswant Deed, Office Head of Doordarshan Kendra welcomed the Chief Minister and apprised him of the new programme being launched by Doordarshan Kendra Shimla.

Veteran folk singer Smt. Gambhari Devi sung a song to mark beginning of the programme. A variety cultural programme was presented to mark the launching ceremony.
