Thakur Gulab Singh, Public Works Minister said that the surface renewal work on 900 Km. long roads besides new tarring work on 275 Km. long roads had been completed before the onset of monsoon in the State. He was addressing a Review Meeting of Public Works Department here today.

Thakur Gulab Singh said that surface improvement work on National Highways which included 70 Km. tarring and 25 Km. strengthening and tarring had been completed so that people did not face any inconvenience during the rainy season.

The minister reviewed the preparations of the Public Works Department for ensuring good road conditions during the apple season in the apple growing areas. He said that 203 JCBs, 135 Dozers and other departmental machinery had been pressed into service by the department and directions had been issued to swing into action promptly in case of land slides so as to ensured smooth movement of vehicular traffic.
