  Foundation Stone of Lift Drinking Water Supply Scheme for Badol Devi group of villages estimated to be completed at a cost of Rs. 257.39 lakh laid by Chief Minister in Gehrwin assembly segment of District Bilaspur.

Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of the 20-bedded self contained Ayurveda Hospital equipped with 'Panchkarma' and allied  ayurvedic treatment facilities on Solan Bye-Pass, estimated to cost  Rs. 3.58 crore.

World Bank sanctioned Development Policy Loan of Rs. 800 crore to Himachal Pradesh.

Shimla Road Users and Pedestrians Act, 2007 enforced.

  CM announced construction of Inter-national Stadium at Shimla.

State Government decided to install statues and maintain registers of 1857  freedom fighters.

CM dedicated the new State Veterinary Hospital in Shimla completed at a cost of Rs. 1.72 crore.

  Foundation stone of new Fruit Market to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 3 crore laid at Bhatta Kuffar in Shimla by Chief Minister.

Monthly honorarium of the elected representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions enhanced w.e.f. 1st April, 2008.  Chairperson, Zila Parishad to get Rs. 3,500 and Vice- Chairperson to get Rs. 2,500. Similarly, Chairperson, Panchayat Samiti to get Rs. 1,800 and Vice Chairperson Rs. 1,500 whereas, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat to get Rs. 1,200 and Up-Pradhan Rs. 1,000.  Zila Parishad Members to get Rs. 1,500 whereas, Members Panchayat Samiti to get Rs. 1,200.

Monthly Remuneration of Medical Officers posted in Lahaul and Spiti District, Pangi Sub-Division of District Chamba and Dodra-Kwar Sub-Division of District Shimla, increased from Rs. 16,000 to Rs. 29,000 and remuneration of Medical Specialists increased from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 45,000.

  Medical Officers posted in the District Kinnaur and Bharmour Sub-Division of District Chamba to get Rs. 26,000 where as, Specialists posted there to get Rs. 40,000.
  Medical Officers joining in rural areas to get Rs. 23,000 and Specialists Rs. 33,000. In rest of the state, the Medical Officers to get a fixed monthly contractual remuneration of Rs. 20,000 and Specialists Rs. 30,000.

  National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), sanctioned Rs. 154.92 crore for the construction of 16,500 poly houses in the State.

  Chief Minister dedicated Rs. 8.84 crore Alwas-Killar road & flagged off first 32 seater bus service on 72 km Alwas-Killar road reducing the 863 km distance between district headquarters Chamba to Killar to only 170 km.
  Chief Minister laid foundation stone of ITI building at Killar estimated to cost Rs. 5.62 crores, Govt. Degree College building to cost Rs. 6.7 crore , Sewerage disposal system for the residents of Killar and adjoining areas, estimated to cost Rs. 8.29 crore and Rs. 96 lakh beautification project for the Mall of Killar town.
17th October, 2008   Himachal Pradesh Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) for setting up of a Container Freight Station (CFS) and Inland Container Depot (ICD) at village Sheetalpur in tehsil Baddi of district Solan..

19th October, 2008  Chief Minister dedicated the new Civil Hospital building at Tauni Devi completed at a cost of Rs. 1.62 crore.

Chief Minister launched the Rs. 228 crore widening and strengthening of Theog-Kotkhai-Hatkoti-Rohru road project from Hulli village in Kotkhai area of district Shimla.
  Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of Lift Irrigation Scheme Tharolla-Bagh-Domehar at Rawtan estimated to cost Rs. 5.52 crore and Kokunallah-Hallaila-Mahasu-Bakhol-Gumma scheme estimated to cost Rs. 6.50 crore in Kotkhai area of district Shimla.

Chief Minister launched Atal Bijli Bachat Yojna from district Kullu.
   CM dedicated the newly constructed complex of the Regional Hospital, Kullu completed at a cost of Rs. 9.00 crore.

Chief Minister laid the Foundation stone of Atal Shiksha Kunj world class Education Hub at Kalu Jhanda in district Solan and integrated township at Mandhala to be named as Atal Nagar, estimated to cost  Rs. 145 crore.

Government enhanced the Dearness Allowance of its employees from existing 47 percent to 54 percent on pay plus Dearness Pay plus Interim Relief w.e.f. 1-07-2008.

Himachal Pradesh awarded National Award by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment for welfare and advancement of handicapped and disabled persons in the State.

35th Meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance and Monitoring Authority, granted approval to 4 additional industrial proposals with an estimated investment of Rs. 177.62 crore and generate employment potential to 1,854 youth on coming into production.
   Rs. 154.92 crore Poly House Project renamed as "Pandit Deen Dayal Kisaan Baagwan Samridhi Yojna'.

26th December, 2008

 

Chief Minister announced that National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) to be opened at Chheb in district Kangra would start admitting students for first batch of different courses to begin from August, 2009 session. 
  The Board of Directors of the Himachal Pradesh State Small Industries and Export Corporation Limited (SSIEC) sanctioned 7 percent dearness allowance, due from 1st July, 2008 and second installment of 5 percent interim relief at par with the employees of the State Government.
