Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi will flag off the inaugural flight from Shimla (Jubbarhatti) Airport at 11.45 AM on 27th April, 2017. It was informed by Shri R.K.Choubey, IAS, Secretary (Civil Aviation), Govt. of India, while presiding over high-level meeting at Jubbarhatti near Shimla today. He also informed that under Regional Connectivity Scheme (UDAN), Prime Minister will also flag off the inaugural flight from Nanded-Mumbai-Hyderabad in Maharashtra and Katappa-Hyderabad in Karnataka from Jubbarhatti, Shimla.
The Meeting was held in the lounge of Jubbarhatti Airport and was attended by the Joint Director General (Civil Aviation) Shri Ashwani Lohani, CMD (Air India), Mrs. Raheja, Member Planning, Mr. I.N.Murthy, Member Operation (Alliance Airways) Shri S. Reheja and Shri C.S. Subbiah, CEO (Alliance Airways). Addl. Chief Secretary (GAD) Shri A.J.V. Prasad represented the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh and Shri Dinesh Malhotra, Commissioner (Tourism & Civil Aviation)-cum-Managing Director, HPTDC alongwith senior police officers attended the meeting.
Commissioner Tourism and Civil Aviation Shri Dinesh Malhotra informed that inaugural flight will be on 27 April 2017. He said that 10 tickets for this flight are available at HPTDC Marketing Office, The Mall, Shimla @ Rs. 1920/- per ticket. He further informed that the time schedule for further regular flights from 28th April, 2017 onwards will be departure at 6.10 AM from Delhi and arrival at 7.25 AM at Shimla and departure at 7.45 AM from Shimla and arrival at 8.45 AM at Delhi.
As a goodwill gesture, CEO (Alliance Airways) informed that two students from orphanage Shimla will be taken to Delhi and will be sent back next day on the flight. They will be special guests of the Alliance Airways.
Flight will be operated for 5 days a week from Wednesday to Sunday. He further informed that the traditional Himachali welcome will be given to the Prime Minister on his arrival at Jubbarhatti Airport on 27th April, 2017.
