Civil Services Day celebrated in Himachal

        The 11th Civil Services Day was observed in all the districts of the State today. The State level function was organized at HIPA, Shimla.

The focus was on the need for minimum government with maximum governance that seeks to reform, perform and transform itself to serve its citizens, better meeting the challenges posed in a fast moving technology enabled world. For achieving this objective, the need for ‘Creating Value through Human Capital Management in Government’ was centre staged as the main theme with tackling challenges, IT linkages and skill development as sub themes. 

All districts highlighted their citizen centric innovations so that these are replicated for public benefit.

In his message on the Civil Services Day, Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh said the conferment of Prime Minister’s Award 2017 upon Solan district of HP for its performance in e-NAM was a matter of pride. This was the second year that HP bagged this prestigious award consecutively.

He said that efforts were being made to create value through human capital management by the State Government. He exhorted all the officers to work tirelessly to implement citizen centric initiatives of the State Government that touch the life of each citizen through transparent, accountable, efficient, humane, pro-active, sustainable and innovative governance.

He said to ensure transparency and efficiency in public services, 130 services of as many as 20 departments were being provided in a time bound manner under Public Service Guarantee Act in the State. He said this would go a long way in bringing awareness amongst the masses.
