Employees of industrial establishments to get paid holiday on polling day

   Labour Commissioner–cum-Chief Inspector of Factories, Himachal Pradesh had issued directions to all occupiers/Managers of Factories/Industrial establishments, shops and other commercial establishments situated in the areas of 36-Bhoranj (SC) Assembly Constituency to strictly abide by the provisions of Section 135-B of Representation of the People Act,1951, wherein every person employed in any business, industrial or other establishments and entitled to vote in above Assembly Constituency should be granted a paid holiday on the day of Poll.

   He said, however, this section shall not apply to any elector whose absence may cause danger or substantial loss in respect of the employment in which he is engaged.
