Yuva Mandals to be involved for awareness on social issues

       

Chief Secretary Shri V.C. Pharka said here today that skits based on themes- drug abuse, child sex ratio, sanitation and culture would be organized throughout the State by involving Yuva Mandals. He said that children from schools and Anganwari Kendras would also be involved in spreading awareness about these topics.

Chief Secretary was presiding over a meeting with senior officers of different departments here today. He said that in order to add more attraction to the tourists visiting Shimla during summers, various activities would be organized during this season including folk dance competition, Himachali food festival, craft fair and band competition. He added that folk dance competitions would also be organized in the Gaiety Theatre in which folk troupes from all the districts would perform. 

He said Rural Development, Irrigation and Public Health, Health, Tourism, Information and Public Relations and Art, Language and Culture Departments would play important role in organizing these activities upto block level in the State.  

Shri Pharka said that state level sports tournament for disabled children would be organized on 6th and 7th April, 2017 at Una and marathon rallies for youth would be organized at Sub-Divisional level.

Secretary I&PH and Language, Art and Culture Smt. Anuradha Thakur, Secretary Rural Development and Youth Services and Sports Shri Onkar Chand Sharma, Director Tourism Shri Dinesh Malhotra, Joint Director YSS Smt. Suman Rawat were present in the meeting.
