CM lays foundation stone of Govt. Degree College Bharli

  • Announces upgradation of PHC Rajpur to CHC

Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh after laying foundation stone of Government degree college at Bharli, (Aanjbhoj), in the remote corner of Transgiri area of district Sirmaur, bordering Uttarakhand,  said that the College would be named as Government Degree College, Aanjbhoj at Bharli. He said that the residential accommodation would also be made for teachers, near to the college. 

The Chief Minister announced upgradation of PHC, Rajpur to Community Health Centre with 30 bed facility. Besides, he said that PWD sub division Rajpura would be reorganised.  He said that the government was considerate to get water both for irrigational and drinking purpose for the Area and certainly would initiate steps to solve the problem soon. He said that the demand for opening Sub Tehsil at Rajpur was being considered by the government.

He was addressing a massive gathering at Bharli in Paonta Sahib Tehsil today.

Chief Minister said that the he never uses derogatory remarks, nor criticise any one, as it was the BJP which had been left with to do the same. It is BJP which uses such tactics, he said. Though there was difference of ideology, yet the criticism, if any, should be healthy one, he said. 

Indirectly hinting at Opposition MLAs from the district, he said that few people of the area got misguided and were hypnotised by outsiders. “I hope that the people must have realised till now, that only Congress government was the one which can carry out development”, he said.

 He said as of today there were as many as 119 colleges in the State and the present government never differentiated in opening educational institutions even in the constituencies represented by BJP, MLAs. The Chief Minister said that all the 10 colleges in Sirmaur had been opened by Congress. 

On different shades of Himachali caps, he said that I also have many friends in state BJP, who wear Red Himachali Cap and vote for Congress. It was the BJP which started politics on even wearing of Himachali caps. The Chief Minister said that he even took oath of Chief Minister wearing Red Cap, adding that the BJP leaders started differentiating over wearing of Caps, creating cultural divide between communities and people of the State.  

He even cautioned those who raise slogans, of caste, region and religion. The Chief Minister said that for him State was one and we have to stand united in taking our State to new heights. “It was not fair to divide people on regional grounds and few so called leaders do the same to remain in the limelight and people need to recognise them as BJP had fought all the elections on the basis of regional and caste basis. 

The Chief Minister raised the Slogan thrice that ‘Himachal is One’ and also made the gathering to do so. He said that it was the responsibility of the people to make Himachal a model of developed Hill State in the country. 

MLA Shri Kirnesh Jung welcomed and honoured the Chief Minister and thanked him for providing a college in the remote corner. He said that the people of Sirmaur would ever remain indebted to Chief Minister for getting sanctioned Indian Institute of Management at Dhaulakuan and Medical college at Nahan besides, various other development projects. He also listed other development works in his constituency. 

The people of the area demanded two irrigational supply scheme for catering to irrigational needs of  whole  Aanjbhoj area from River Tons and Pirvada Akhara, besides to declare Amboya as an industrial area for which 1400 Bigha land available. 

Chairman, Employment Generation and Resource Mobilisation, Shri Harshvardhan Chauhan, who had remained MLA from the area, before its merger in Paonta Sahib in delimitation process also spoke on the occasion. He said that one SDM office at Shillai,  three Tehsils viz: Renuka, Nohradhar and Kamrau, three Sub Tehsils Narag, Nauri and Haripurdhar and  three colleges were provided to Sirmaur in last over four years for which the people of the district would ever remain indebted to the Chief Minister. 

He also supported the demands as laid by the local MLA.

Chief Parliamentary Secretary Shri Vinay Kumar  Vice-Chairman, State Planning Board  Shri Gangu Ram Musafir,  Chairman HIMFED Shri Ajay Bahadur, DCC President Sirmaur Shri Ajay Solanki, Chairperson, Zila Parishad  Shri Dilip Chauhan, local senior leader Shri Jaggi Ram were also present on occasion amongst senior officers of the district.
