CM sanctions rope way from Bandla village to Snowline

- Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh  being welcome at Bandla Palampur in Kangra district on 16 Jan 2017.

                          Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh today sanctioned a rope way from Bandla village to snowline near Palampur town in Kangra district along with veterinary dispensary for Badher, Ayurvedic dispensary for Gwal Tikkar and health sub centre for Deogran gram panchayats. He said that the name of the circuit house being constructed at Palalmpur town would be named as ‘Son Kunj’.

He was addressing a public meeting at Bandla in Palampur assembly segment. 

Shri Virbhadra Singh said the state had progressed a lot and no limit of development could be fixed as it was a continuous process. There was only one inter college in the state when it came into existence whereas today it had 116 degree colleges and over 15,000 schools. A special campaign was launched to provide qualitative education to the students at their door steps especially girls. Various medical and technical education institutes were opened so that the state could become an educational hub. All this development and progress could be ensured as the state government concentrated on all important sectors like road, transport, education, health, public health, electricity and framed special policies and programmes to accomplish a speedy development, he added.

The Chief Minister said it was on the top priority of the state government to provide three phase electric supply in all the villages across the state. He said that a medical college would start functioning in Hamirpur district from next session. He alleged that though the state govt. had provided land for the construction of AIIMS at Bilaspur but no work could be commenced as the Central government did not release even a single penny so far.  

 He urged the people not to forget their culture, language, customs and traditions and take a care of their rich heritage so that it could be preserved and transferred to the coming generations. He chastised some sections of the society, who try to sow seeds of discontentment and divide the state on the analogy of upper and lower Himachal. He said it was unfair to create such a divide as it hindered the development of the state.         

  Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated the stage with two class rooms at GSSS, Bandla built at a cost of Rs. 40.59lakhs and laid foundation stone of sub divisional veterinary hospital to be constructed at Palampur at a cost of Rs. 62.52 lakhs, performed bhumi poojan of road from Chowki Patwar Khana to Rajpur Chowk Kesar Bag colony and Govt. College, Palampur with bridges over Bhiral Khad and Mohal Khad proposed to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 258.28 lakhs and improvement and upgradation of Rakh to Bandla via Ghamrota Jayun Sukeri Kandi road at Rs.472.48 lakhs.  

He, also, laid foundation stones of three water supply schemes of IPH department respectively improvement of water supply scheme for Badsar, Dayala, Chamrkar, Jia Khas and Majhetali to be completed at a cost of Rs.70.52 lakhs, water supply scheme for SC population of Rodi and Khalet Village worth Rs.38.40 lakhs and water supply scheme for SC population of Aima and Haar village to be constructed at a cost of Rs.47.96 lakhs.   

 Speaker, Himachal Vidhan Sabha Shri Brij Bihari Lal Butail addressing the gathering said that the Palampur constituency owed the credit of development to the Chief Minister who had been sanctioning various development projects to this area time to time.  He said that today the state stood in the first row in the field of education in the country as Shri Virbhadra Singh took personal interest in spreading education in the state. He demanded making of a rope way between Neugal to Thatari, indoor stadium and setting up of a polytechnic college at Chachiyan.    

Earlier, Colonel Jagdeesh Gahlotra presented the list of demands of Bandla gram panchayat while Shri Madan Dixit presented the vote of thanks.

Urban Development Minister Shri Sudhir Sharma, CPS Shri Jagjivan Pal, M.L.A. Shri Yadvindra Goma, Chairperson, Palampur Nagar Parishad Radha Sood were among the prominent persons who were present on the occasion.
