Chief Minister inaugurates Cyber Crime Police Station

Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh  inaugurating Online State Cyber Crime Police Station at Shimla on 17-12-16.

Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh digitally inaugurated State Cyber Crime Police Station located at State Police Headquarter, from his office here today.

 Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister said State Cyber Crime Police Station has been created by the State Government as per his budget speech announcement. He said that main objective of this Cyber Crime Police Station was to deal with increasing crime based on misuse of information technology (Cyber Space) by the High tech criminals.

He said that the facility will be provided necessary technical assistance in apprehending the suspects and collection of digital evidence on all issue of cyber crime. It will investigate and register all serious cyber offences i.e. hacking of government web sites and its data, prevention and detection of cyber terrorism & financing all types of cyber fraud cases, identifying communal tension modules etc, he added.  

Shri Virbhadra Singh said that Cyber Crime Police Station will also liaise and undertake investigation of cases of cyber crime having impact in national and international level along with the nodal agencies of these organizations for prevention, detection and investigation of cyber crime.

Chief Minister said that Cyber Police Station will also be responsible for creating general awareness among the masses to prevent them from falling victim to the hands of high and cyber tech criminals.

Chief Secretary Shri V.C.
