Himachal becomes 6th State to achieve 100% Aadhaar Saturation

 

A spokesperson of IT Department informed here today that Himachal Pradesh has achieved 100% Aadhaar Saturation out of current population of 2015. Aadhaar numbers have been generated for 72, 52,880 residents in the State. With this, Himachal Pradesh has become the 6th State/ UT in the Country to achieve 100% Aadhaar saturation after Delhi, Telangana, Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh.

He thanked all the people of the State, Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh for his guidance, government functionaries, all District administrations and all the people involved in Aadhaar for this big achievement. To maintain 100% Aadhaar saturation in future, we have deployed 780 Tablets through Anganwari workers to cover 0-5 age group in the State and 250 Tablets will be deployed through Health Institutions to cover new born babies in the State, he added.

Spokesperson said that as biometric updation is mandatory at attaining the age of 5 years and 15 years, we have 240 Permanent Enrolment Centres (PECs) operational for updation and enrolment activity down to the block level. He said that 22 Aadhaar Mobile Vans are also operational to cover any left out Citizen or elderly person in the remote areas of the State.

He said that to facilitate citizens Aadhaar helpdesk was also made  functional in the State to address any Aadhaar related query the contact number for the same is 0177-2626709.  He said queries related to Aadhaar can also be addressed to the Aadhaar Nodal Officer, Department of IT, IT Bhawan, Shoghi Bypass Road, Meheli Shimla, email:aadhaar@hp.gov.in. He said that the State was committed to take Aadhaar program further and integrate same in all the government services. He also thanked UIDAI for their support and hoped to continue same in near future for better service delivery using Aadhaar.
