Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated visitors/waiting rooms at his official residence Oak Over and at HP Secretariat here today to facilitate the people visiting the Secretariat and Oak Over to meet the Chief Minister regarding their various works.
While interacting with the media after the inauguration, the Chief Minister said that it was felt that the general public coming to meet the Chief Minister and other Ministers at the Secretariat regarding their works was facing lot of inconvenience as there was no proper waiting area. He said that this was causing lot of inconvenience to the people particularly, the old, women and the physically challenged.
Chief Minster said that the similarly, there was no proper place for the visitors visiting Oak Over regarding their works. He said that with these visitors/waiting areas, the people visiting for their works would have comfortable waiting area.
He said that the visitors/waiting room at Oak Over have sitting capacity of 250 people. He said that the Visitors/waiting room has floor heating system making it cosy and comfortable. The first floor of the visitor’s area has a sitting capacity of 100 people, besides a Chief Minister’s Chamber, waiting room and toilets. Similarly, the ground floor has sitting capacity of 150 people with toilets for the visitors, he added. He said that the visitors/waiting room at Secretariat has sitting capacity of 100 people.
Wife of the Chief Minister Dr. Sadhna Thakur, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Kishan Kapoor, Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, Health Minister Vipin Singh Parmar, State BJP Chief Satpal Satti, Pawan Rana, Mayor Municipal Corporation Shimla Kusum Sadrate, General Secretary Child Welfare Council Payal Vaidya, Chief Secretary Vineet Chawdhry, Additional Chief Secretary cum Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. Shrikant Baldi, Additional Chief Secretary PWD Manisha Nanda, Deputy Commissioner Shimla Amit Kashyap were present on the occasion among others.
