Governor Acharya Devvrat said that the Swami Dayanand Saraswati presented Vedas in a scientific perspective so as to guide the society towards realism. Acharya Devvrat was speaking on the occasion of the Regional Arya Conference organized by the Himachal Pradesh Arya Pratinidhi Sabha at Sundernagar in Mandi district today.
The Governor said that the present era was an era of science and there was no place for superstition and false notions. He said that our country has rich history and tradition of saints and sages. He said that the Arya Samaj has played a major role in eradication of superstition from the society.
Acharya Devvrat said that the society was transforming fast. He said that today the younger generation has little knowledge of our saints, great personalities and freedom fighters, who laid down their lives for the cause of the nation. He urged the parents to inculcate high values and moral character in their children.
The Governor said that the country was progressing in all spheres, but still lot more needs to be done. He said that the State should be made an Organic State with clean and pollution free environment. He said that in this the youth could play a pivotal role.
Earlier the Governor planted a “Harad” sapling at the Arya Vir Dal Training Camp and presented keys of “Ved Prachar Vahan” to the representatives of the Arya Sabha.
OSD to Governor Dr Rajinder Alankar also spoke on the occasion.
Chairman Himachal Pradesh Arya Pratinidhi Sabha Shri Prabodh Chandra Sood welcomed the Governor.
Shri Sohan Lal Thakur welcomed the Governor on his arrival at Sundernagar. Deputy Commissioner Mandi Shri Sandeep Kadam, Director Technical Education Shri Rajeshwar Goyal and other prominent people of the area were also present on the occasion.
