Swachh Survekshan for Shimla in January, 2017

“Swachh Survekshan” for Shimla town would be conducted in January, 2017 and the objective of the survey is to encourage citizen participation and create awareness among all the sections of the society about the importance of working together, towards making the towns and cities better place to live in.  This was disclosed by Shri Pankaj Rai, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Shimla here yesterday. The survey also intends to foster up spirit of healthy competition among the towns and cities to improve their service deliveries to citizens and to create cleaner urban spaces.

He said that Swachhta Complaint Helpline number 1916 is working under MC Shimla and people could register their complaints regarding tap water overflowing, muck dumping, littering, sewerage leakage etc. Complaints regarding dustbin overflowing or garbage littering, cleanliness of drains etc. on helpline complaint number 1916 could also be registered, he added.

He said that under Swachh Bharat Mission, Shimla Swachh Mission would be launched and School Sanitation Committee would be formed. Cleanliness drive on every Sunday would be the part of the campaign. He said that sanitation guidelines in the form of a calendar would be designed for distribution to make aware masses about various facilities being rendered by the Municipal Corporation, Shimla for the public so that they could also participate in the Shimla Swachh Mission.
