Demanded additional financial support for Bulk Drug Park
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu called on Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda at New Delhi late last evening.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted the State Government's commitment to enhancing the health sector through improved infrastructure and services. He emphasized the need for state-of-the-art medical technology in hospitals to reduce the need for residents to seek advanced medical care outside the state. He also demanded funds for completing the works of Nahan, Chamba and Hamirpur medical colleges.
He said that quality medical education is being imparted to students in the state and urged for supporting the passed out nursing students of the state to find placements abroad also.
Thakur Sukhvinder Sing Sukhu also requested additional financial assistance for the Bulk Drug Park, citing its critical role in the state's economic development and its potential to generate significant local employment opportunities.
The Union Minister assured of all possible assistance to state from the Centre.
Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sunder Singh Thakur, Principal Secretary Finance Devesh Kumar, Secretary to Chief Minister Rakesh Kanwar, Resident Commissioner Meera Mohanty and Private Secretary to the Union Health Minister Ashutosh Garg were present during the meeting.
