As many as 3406 Primary Assistant Teachers (PAT) from all over the state gathered here at Peterhoff hotel in Thanks Giving function to Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh for enhancing their honorarium from Rs. 13,000 to Rs. 21,000.
The Chief Minister addressing them said that the Congress Government always believed in justice and the government had fulfilled their demands of enhancing the honorarium. He said that the notification to this effect had already been issued.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government had ensured welfare of teaching community and particularly those teachers who were providing their services on meager income. He said Government was considerate to all for their genuine demands, may it be PAT, Para or PTA teachers and fulfilled majority of them.
He said that Congress Government has always done justice to every section of society whereas BJP always played politics based on caste, region and religion.
The Chief Minister assured to fulfill other demands in a phased manner.
Earlier the State President PAT Narayan Himral welcomed and honourerd the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion.
State Youth Congress President Vikrmaditya Singh, BCC President Shimla Rural Chandershekahar, Joint Director Education K.R. Saizal were also present on the occasion amongst others.
