Governor discard red beacon from his official vehicle

Governor Acharya Devvrat removing red beacon from his official vehicle at New Delhi on 20 April 2017.

Following the decision of the union government to rid the VIP culture of red lights, Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Acharya Devvrat today directed to remove red beacon from his official vehicles along-with other vehicles attached with him.

Before leaving to New Delhi today morning, he directed to remove red beacons from his vehicles and thereafter on reaching New Delhi, he directed to discard red beacons from the official vehicles made available there.

Acharya Devvrat has welcomed the decision of the Union Cabinet to ban red beacons atop cars of all ministers, politicians and bureaucrats adding that it was a historic decision, which would help in ending VIP culture in the country. He said this would also help in checking the misuse of red beacons by the anti social elements.
