                        Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh while addressing a public meeting at Rampur Bharapur in Nahan Assembly constituency of Sirmaur district today after laying foundation stone of bridge over Konthri Khala to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 3.58 crore, said that nearing elections, many people come forward and try to divide the people on religion,  caste  and region, which was detrimental for the State. Many try to lure the people by offering monetary benefits.

Chief Minister had a dig on those leaders who divide the masses on caste, colour and region and   said that he can say with his long experience that such a leader who believes in such politics does not survive for long.  He said that since the area is close to Paonta Sahib and was economically being strengthened, it has also witnessed the unity amongst the people of all religions, living in harmony. He said that the motive should be to strengthen the bond of fraternity and brotherhood amongst the people.

He said that the land of this area was conducive for farming and rich for cultivation in order to cope up with floods it was necessary to channelise the rivulets of the area. The seasonal rivulets in Paonta Sahib and areas of Nahan Assembly adjoining Paonta,  needs to be channelised so that the water and the land so acclaimed could be utilised for irrigational purpose. 

He said that today foundation stone of bridges worth Rs.29.10 crores were laid, and already financial provision for construction of the bridges had been made.

Earlier, the Chief Minister also addressed a public meeting at Palliyon in the interior of Nahan Assembly Constituency and assured that the demand of opening Sub-Tehsil at Trilokpur would be considered by the government sympathetically.

Chairman HIMFED Shri Ajay Bahadur and DCC President Shri Ajay Solanki also welcomed the Chief Minister and honoured him. 

Chief Parliamentary Secretary Shri Vinay Kumar,  MLA Shri Kirnesh Jung, Chairman, Employment Generation and Resource Mobilisation, Shri Harshvardhan Chauhan, former MLA Shri Kush Parmar, Chairperson HP State Social Welfare Board Smt. Satya Parmar, Chairman Zila Parishad Shri Dilip Chauhan, Congress leader  Smt. Kunjana Singh  were also present on occasion amongst senior officers of the district.
