CM dedicates SDM Office at Fetehpur

  • Inaugurates 242.11 Lakh APMC Market Yard
  • Announces upgradation of various Schools

Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh, today dedicated the Office of Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) at Fatehpur. He also inaugurated APMC Market Yard at Fetehpur constructed at a cost of Rs.242.11 lakhs and Civil Hospital at Fetehpur. He laid foundation stones of additional accommodation of GSSS, Fatehpur to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 194 lakhs and Hatli Khadoun Road along with bridge over Khadoun Khad and improvement of Kuthar Mohar Takwal road to be constructed at a cost of Rs.831.27 lakhs.  

          Addressing a large gathering at Fatehpur, the Chief Minister said that the state had made a rapid and significant progress under various regimes of the Congress. There were over 36,000 kms long road network in the state besides 100 percent uninterrupted electric supply. There were 116 Govt. Degree Colleges, over 15,000 Schools and five Medical Colleges in the state. It was the Congress which helped in unifying the state emotionally. ‘We always believed in unity of all sections of the society and have been working for the upliftment of the people throughout since we came into power’, he added.    

          Reiterating the contribution of various Congress regimes in the state, he said that today the people of the state were contented and prosperous as the per capita income had crossed over one lakh. He said that it was Mahatma Gandhi who led the people against the British and won freedom for the country. He took strong exception to the calendar issued recently by the Khadi Village Industries Commission (KVIC) which had no picture of the Father of the Nation. He also castigated the present Central Govt. for demonetization as it left the common man suffered. ‘Every action has equal and opposite reaction and the steps being taken on grounds of religion, caste and creed were damaging to the unity of the society and nation as a whole’, he said.

          Shri Virbhadra Singh said that the Constitution of India provided all citizens with equal rights and one can practice the religion of choice.  No person should be differentiated on grounds of faith and religion. The society should be allowed to live and progress in peace and harmony. We should strive to develop India on the dreams of Mahatma Gandhi and other great freedom fighters so that we could walk equally with other nations of the world.   

         The Chief Minister announced upgradation of Government High School Monah Sihal, Chhattar and GHS (Girls) Rehan to plus two schools. He also sanctioned play ground to be developed at Golwan and said the money would not be a constraint.   

MPP and  Agriculture Minister Sujan Singh Pathania while welcoming the Chief Minister thanked him for laying foundation stones of various developmental works, dedicating Office of SDM and inaugurating many a developmental projects.

   He credited various Congress governments in the centre and different parts of the country for the splendid progress made in all walks of life.   

          Chairman OBC Finance Corporation and former Minister Chaudhary Chandra Kumar addressing the gathering detailed about various developmental programmes and policies being implemented by the State Government.  

          Local Congress leader Girdhar Gopal Sharma also spoke on the occasion.  

          Chairman, APMC, Kangra Raijnder Singh Pathania welcomed the Chief Minister and briefed about the ongoing developmental works in Fatehpur constituency. He thanked the Chief Minister for opening of AMPC market yard at Fatehpur.

Former PRI representative Anil Kumar also greeted the Chief Minister and other guests.  

          Artists of Department of Information and Public Relations enthralled the audience by presenting developmental songs on the occasion. 

          Later, the Chief Minister laid foundation stone of the building of Wazir Ram Singh Govt. College at Dehri proposed to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 411 lakhs. He also inaugurated CHC at Raja Ka Talab.  

          MLA Ajay Mahajan, State Congress General Secretary Chetan Chambial, Chairman Block Congress Committee Surendra Sharma, Block Youth Congress Congress president Vivek Badheria, Krishi Upaj Mandi Smaiti president Ravi Thakur, Block Seva Dal president Jagroop Singh Rana, Block president Congress Seva Dal Raijnder Singh Pathania, State coordinator Congress Seva Dal Malkit Singh Dhariwal, Member Zila Parishad Rita Pathania, Youth Congress leader Ashwani Rana and Rajiv Guleria, Deputy Commissioner CP Verma, Superintendent of Police Sanjiv Gandhi and other persons of repute were present on the occasion.
