Industries Minister urges entrepreneurs to invest in Himachal

Industries Minister Shri Mukesh Agnihotri addressing a  “Conclave”  of investors organised by CII on investment possibilities in Northern region at New Delhi on 23 Sep 2016.

   Industries Minister Shri Mukesh Agnihotri urged the investors to come forward to avail the benefits of the investment potential in the state. He said that several steps have been taken to make the State investors friendly, which has made the State the favourite destination for the entrepreneurs.

Shri Mukesh Agnihotri said this while addressing a  “Conclave”  of investors organised by CII on investment possibilities in Northern region at New Delhi today. The conclave was organised by CII in association with Himachal Pradesh Government to identify the possibilities of investment in the State.

While referring to the immense potential of investment in various sectors such as tourism, agriculture, hydropower project and horticulture, Shri Agnihotri said that the State Government has come up with a time bound  approvals to the proposals of the investors, under which it was made mandatory to take  appropriate decisions within 45 days of the submission of the proposal. He said that this service has been brought under the “Public Service Gaurantee Act” to avoid any laxity. He said that for this a separate “Investment Encouragement Cell” has been created.

Shri Agnihotri said that  Himachal Pradesh was becoming a favorite destination to entrepreneurs as there was an abundance power, peacefull and eco friendly  environment, politically stability besides Himachal Pradesh has been ranked third in the country and first in the Northern region in Human Resource Development Index prepared by UNDP. 

He urged the entrepreneurs to come forward in supplementing the government efforts in developmental needs and give their suggestions to the government for the promotion of industries. He said that Industrial Consultancy Council had been set up with this objective and industrialists had also been included in it to provide feedback from time to time.

Industries Minister said that in order to attract investment in the State, ‘Investors Meets’ were organized in various parts of the country due to which tangible results were coming out. He said that a mega event would be organized at Baddi with association of CII in which prestigious industrial houses would be invited from across the globe.
