CM dedicates projects worth crores of rupees for Renukaji area

Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh said that Choordhar area has immense tourism potential besides great religious significance which could be developed further with the   cooperation of local people. He urged them to provide land voluntarily and extend support for constructing road to the  Choordhar temple. He was addressing a public meeting at Nohradhar during his two days visit to Sirmour district.  

Speaking on the occasion he said that education was one of the top priorities of the Government and every effort was being made to provide quality education to students at their door step. He said that to impart education to students there were 15500 Government schools and 115 colleges across the State. Out of this, Sirmour district itself has 10 colleges, which shows the commitment of the Government towards the development of the district he said.

Chief Minister announced construction of science lab for Government Senior Secondary School Nohradhar besides undertaking repair of the school building and repair of boys hostel in phased manner. He said that modern equipment would be made available to the lab of Government Senior Secondary School Nohradhar. He also asked the authorities to prepare estimate for repairing boys hostel at Nohradhar.

He performed foundation stone laying ceremonies of 30 bedded CHC building to be constructed at   a cost of  Rs. 6.92 Crore,  office building of Executive Engineer of Irrigation and Public Health to be   constructed   at  a cost of Rs 1.85 crore and inaugurated  Trekkers  Hut constructed  at a cost  of Rs.1.29 Crore at Nohradhar.

He said that Himachal was a hilly state and due to rough terrain and tough geographical conditions helicopter services were utilised for various purposes including emergencies like carrying patients etc. He said that Government would consider expansion of helipads for facilitating bigger helicopters.

He said that the State Government has ensured balanced development of all areas of the State and added that sincere efforts have been made for development of Sirmour. He said that the State Government was committed towards strengthening the health sector as well for which the ambulances have been increased from 166 to 182 under National Ambulance Service 108. He said that the Nahan medical college has been made operational to provide specialised health services in the region. He said that Rs. 773 crore have been spent on Drinking Water schemes in the State. He

 said that work on augmentation of Water Supply Scheme in Nahan, Banjar, Hamirpur and Sarkaghat was under progress.

Shri Yashpal Chauhan, Member HPCC welcomed the Chief Minister at Nohradhar.

Later, addressing a public meeting at Boghdhar after inaugurating Multi Villages Water Supply Scheme constructed at a cost of Rs. eight crore at Boghdhar, Chief Minister said that this scheme will benefit a population of 16867 of 224  habitations of 38 villages falling under 11 gram panchayats of the area.

He said that Government was laying special emphasis on those areas which were neglected, so that they could also develop along with other areas. He said that he was developing the entire State equally.  He said that he is a staunch Congressman dedicated to the party   and warned those who were weakening the party. He urged the party workers to be united and work for strengthening the party in the best interest of state and country.

 Smt Vidya Stokes, Irrigation and Public Health Minister said that in district Sirmour 34397.04 hectares land has been brought under irrigation. She said that 119 flow irrigation schemes, 91 lift irrigation schemes, 23 tube well schemes and 5 canals were providing irrigation facilities in the District.

She said that 152.13 hectare area would be covered under irrigation this year. Budget provision of Rs. 567.22 lakhs has been made for this year for irrigation schemes, she added.

Shri Vinay Kumar, Chief Parliamentary Secretary welcomed the Chief Minister and thanked him for his liberal attitude towards the development of Renukaji area. He said that road works worth Rs.125 crore were in progress in the area

Shri Vikramaditya Singh President State Youth Congress urged youth to develop nationalistic approach in themselves and work for the development of State and Country. He said that unprecedented development has taken place in the State during the tenure of present Government.

Chief Minister paid rich tributes to late Dr. Prem Singh former MLA Renukaji on his 5th death anniversary today and remembered his dedicated services rendered for the area.

Shri Tapinder Chauhan, President BCC and Shri Lavraj, Up Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Shamra also welcomed the Chief Minister and apprised of local demands of the people of the region.

 Shri Kirnesh Jung MLA, Shri G.R. Musafir, Deputy Chairman State Planning Board, Shri Ajay Bahadur, Chairman HIMFED, Shri Dilip Chauhan Chairman Zila Parishad, Ajay Solanki, DCC President, Deputy Commissioner Shri Balbir Chand Badalia, Superintend of Police Ms. Saumya, Congress leaders, senior officers of State Government and other prominent people were also present on the occasion.
