80 percent of trained youth given placements
Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam would given training in various skill to 50000 youth of the State during next three years, out of which various training programmes had already been started to train 28000 youth in the year 2017-18 for which a proposal of financial assistance of Rs. 640 crore from ADB had been cleared by Government of India.
This was revealed in the 4th meeting of Board of Directors of H.P. Kaushal Vikas Nigam held, here today. Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh presided over the meeting. Technical Education Minister Shri G.S. Bali and Industries Minister Shri Mukesh Agnihotri were also present.
Chief Minister said that the focus of the Government was to provide training to maximum youth of the State and ensure their placement. He said that under pilot training programme, 1080 youth were provided training in various courses and 80 percent of youth had been got placements in relevant industry in an average salary bracket of Rs. 10000/-.
He said that Bachelor of Vocation/ Graduate add on programme would be implemented in various colleges of the State in academic year 2017 which would go a long way in providing employment in various sectors.
He said that Centre of Excellence was being coming up near Taradevi in Shimla for which land has already been transferred to the Nigam and a provision of Rs. 20 crore has also been made. He asked the authorities for early completion of formalities.
It was apprised in the meeting that 14000 youth would be imparted training in different courses under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna-II.
Earlier Managing Director HP Kaushal Vikas Nigam Shri Rajesh Sharma welcomed the Chief Minister and others and conducted the proceedings.
Director of HP Kaushal Vikas Nigam Shri Vikramaditya Singh, Chief Secretary Shri V.C. Pharka, Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Shrikant Baldi, Dr. A.J.V. Prasad, Principal Secretary Shri R.D. Dhiman, Secretary Shri Onkar Sharma, Advisor Planning Shri Hans Raj Chauhan, Vice Chairman CII Shri Subodh Gupta were also present.
