Chief Minister announces Tehsil for Ghanari in Gagret area

Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh announced opening of Tehsil at Ghanari in Gagret assembly constituency which would facilitate the people of the area for revenue and related works nearer to their homes. He was addressing a mammoth public gathering  at Gagret in Una district today, after dedicating Banehra bridge on Gondpur Banehra to Nangal Jarrialan road constructed at a cost of Rs. 2.11 crore which was completed in a record period of one year.

Shri Virbhadra Singh also announced to upgrade Government High Schools Sanghnai, Kalruhi, Nakdoh (Ramnagar) and Gagret to Government Senior Secondary Schools. He also announced to start science stream in Government Senior Secondary School Marwari from next academic session.

Chief Minister said that tributaries of Beas river in Gagret area would be channelized as Swan river and all its tributaries were already being channelized. He said that Swan River which was said to be the river of sorrow in Una district was being channelized by spending Rs. 922 crore which was one of the biggest channelization projects of the country, out of which Rs. 400 crore were being spent in Gagret constituency. He said that 73 tributaries would be channelized under this project.  He said that over 15000 hectares of land would be reclaimed under this project and would be utilized for horticulture and agriculture purposes.

Shri Virbhadra Singh said that since last 20 days he had been touring extensively in Kangra, Chamba and Hamirpur districts where various developmental projects worth hundreds of crores of rupees were either dedicated or laid foundation stones besides knowing the problems of commonman, and now he was on three days tour to Una district commencing from Gagret area. He said that he personally believed in listening to the grievances of the people of different areas at their door steps instead of forcing the people to visit various offices for their works to save their time and money.

The Chief Minister said that Himachal Pradesh came into existence due to the consistent efforts of congress party and first Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Dr. Y.S. Parmar and the hilly areas of Punjab were emerged in Himachal Pradesh. He said that BJP, the then Jansangh had opposed the formation of the State of merging hilly areas and now the BJP leaders claimed themselves as biggest well wishers and servant of the state.

Shri Virbhadra Singh said that during the Vidhan Sabha Sessions convened during the regime of present government, BJP members remained outside the assembly which shown their irresponsibility towards the people of their area and the state.

Chief Minister said that Shri Shanta Kumar became the Chief Minister of the state twice but he believed in descent politics contrary to Shri Prem Kumar Dhumal who remained busy in framing false cases against his opponents including him.  Shri Dhumal during his first tenure as Chief Minister conducted CBI inquiry and Sagar Katha case framed against him in which he came out clean. He further said that during his second tenure he again framed CD case and he faced session trial and nothing was found.   

He said that during BJP regime, Congress Party had prepared chargesheet and the same was submitted to President and Governor of the State. He said that assuming the charge it became duty of the Government to inquire into the matter. He said that there would be no witch hunting and innocent need not worry, but at the same time the wrong doers would not be spared. He said that he had no personal grudge with anybody. He said that it was the duty of the Government to inquire  into the complaints received from any sources.

While talking to the development of Una district, Chief Minister said that State Government had made numerous milestones in every sphere of development and today Una district had emerged as an industrial hub of the State. He cautioned the people to beware of divisive forces who were out to divide the people on narrow considerations just to achieve their political motives.

Later, the Chief Minister also listened the public grievances at Dhaulatpur Chowk, Gagret and Bharwain and directed the concerned authorities to for early disposal.

Industries Minister Shri Mukesh Agnihotri on the occasion said that State was making rapid strides in every field of development under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh. He said that the Chief Minister was touring the State extensively which was benefitting the common man immensely. He thanked the Chief Minister for upgrading various educational institutions which would go a long way in providing education to the students nearer to their homes.

He said that present State Government was stable as it was elected democratically by the people of the State and was fulfilling the aspirations and expectations of the people. He said that opposition leaders were trying to create hurdles in the way of development rather than support it. He asked them to shun such indifferent attitude and extend their constructive support for the betterment of the State as well as its people.

Chairman, State Finance Commission Shri Kuldeep Kumar said that Small Flood Protection Division has been opened in Una district by Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh and thanked for strengthening it which would be helpful in reclaiming the land and boost the agriculture and horticulture activities in the district.

Local MLA Shri Rakesh Kalia thanked the Chief Minister in his home segment and thanked him for announcing  Tehsil and  upgrading various schools in the area. He said that credit for development of Gagret area go to Shri Virbhadra Singh who paid special attention for the development of the area.

President, District Congress Committee Shri Virender Dharmani also spoke on the occasion.

President, Block Congress Committee, Gagret Captain Balwant Parmar welcomed the Chief Minister.

Member, State Congress Committee Shri Satpal Raizada, senior Congress leaders Shri Avinash Kalia, Deputy Commissioner Shri Abhishek Jain, S.P. Shri Anupam Sharma, senior officers of the State Government and other prominent persons were also present on the occasion.
