CM inspects tourism and water sports activities in Andrauli

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inspected water sports activities in Andrauli in the Kutlehar Assembly constituency of district Una today. He lauded the efforts of district administration for promoting these activities.

The Chief Minister said that the state government was giving added priority promoting tourism sector and alongside harnessing hydropower and renewable energy sources to make Himachal a self-reliant state. He said that Himachal Pradesh was blessed with immense tourism potential and the present state government was making every possible effort to promote and develop this sector.

He said that the government would develop Andrauli area to increase footfall besides making it an attraction for tourists visiting the state. The tourism was an important sector for strengthening the state's economy and offers ample employment and self-employment opportunities to the youth. Keeping this in view,  the government was leaving no stone unturned to make Himachal the most favourite tourism destination for the visitors, said the Chief Minister.  

He further stated that the government was actively promoting religious, adventure and eco-tourism to ensure that those visiting the state have a memorable experience to cherish. He said that the government aims to attract five crore tourists annually in near future for which the facilities being offered to the visitors well being were created and improved.
