Chief Minister inaugurates and lays foundation stones of 24 developmental projects worth Rs. 44.83 crore at Kumarsain
Announces to upgrade Police Post Narkanda to Police Station, enhances the capacity of Civil Hospital Kumarsain and upgrade the PHC Narkanda.
Provision of Rs. 20 lakh for beautification of Tanu-Jubbar lake under the Nai Rahein Nai Manzil scheme.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today presided over the “Pragtisheel Himachal: Sthaapna ke 75 Varsh” program at Kumarsain in Theog assembly constituency of Shimla district. He also inaugurated and laid foundation stones of 24 developmental projects worth about Rs. 44.83 crore.
While addressing a largely attended public meeting at Kumarsain's Durbar Maidan, the Chief Minister announced to upgrade the fire sub-station Theog to a fire station, up-gradation of Polic Post Narkanda to a Police Station, to make a provision of Rs. 20 lakh for the beautification of Tanu-Jubbar lake under "Nai Rahein Nai Manzilen" scheme, enhancement of the capacity of Civil Hospital Kumarsain to 50 beds, upgrade Primary Health Center Narkanda to Community Health Center and provide Rs.10 lakh each for Thathal road and Tanu Jubbar-Shila Jan roads. He said that a process would be started to convert Gram Panchayat Kumarsain into Nagar Panchayat with the consent of local people. The remaining work of Rest House at Kangal would be completed at the earliest and necessary formalities would be completed for the establishment of Sub Judge Court.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the spirit behind the “Pragtisheel Himachal : Sthaapna ke 75 Varsh” program started by the State Government was pious. "It is everyone's program and gives us an opportunity to remember and express our gratitude to everyone for their contribution in the progress of Himachal," added the Chief Minister. He said that along with the successive leadership, the hard working and honest people of the state had also contributed significantly in the progress of Himachal. He also appreciated the efforts of Satyanand Stokes in making Himachal the apple producing state.
Chief Minister said that the State Government had maintained the pace of development in Himachal, despite the COVID-19 pandemic. He said that India was able to come out of this crisis under the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the world's largest vaccination campaign was successfully conducted in India along with the manufacturing of Covid vaccine. Himachal Pradesh was ranked first in the country for hundred percent vaccination of the targeted population. The cooperation and contribution of the people of state during the Covid crisis and the vaccination program was commendable, added the Chief Minister
Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government had taken several initiatives to change the scenario in Himachal as soon as it took charge almost five years ago. From the very first day, the vendetta politics was completed stopped. He said that the state government had always tried to work for the poor and needy people. The age limit for the social security pension without any income criteria was reduced from 80 to 70 years, on the very first day of the government in office and now this had been further reduced to 60 years. He said that at present about 7.50 lakh people are getting this pension, on which about Rs. 1300 crore were being spent.
While quoting the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the Chief Minister said that the State Government had been working with a spirit of benefitting every section of the society and was ensuring that the benefits of welfare schemes reached upto the last person in a row. He said that under the Mukhyamantri Sahara Yojna, more than 20 thousand needy people were being provided assistance amounting to Rs. 3000 per month. About 3.34 lakh women had been provided with free LPG connections under the Mukhyamantri Grihini Suvidha Yojna. An amount of Rs. 31 thousand was being provided to the daughters of BPL families as shagun through Mukhyamantri Shagun Yojna. He said that many such welfare schemes of the state government had brought a considerable change in the lives of the people of the state.
Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government had ensured free drinking water supply in rural areas and free electricity to the domestic consumers of the whole state up to the monthly consumption of 125 units. Women had been provided 50 percent discount on the fare in ordinary buses of Himachal Road Transport Corporation. He said that the opposition parties probably not liked these public welfare schemes of the state government and had been trying to create confusion among the public.

He inaugurated the building of Civil Hospital Kumarsain built at a cost of Rs. 8.13 crore, Industrial Training Institute building worth Rs. 2.34 crore, Sub-Treasury office building worth Rs. 70 lakh, Government Degree College building worth Rs. 10 crore, Fruit Plant Nutrition lab at Dhabi near Thanadhar worth Rs. 1.11 crore. Sub-tehsil office cum residential building at Kotgarh worth Rs. 94 lakh, upgraded road to village Magsu worth Rs.63 lakh, upgraded Jimmu Nallah-Jal road worth Rs. 1.38 crore, upgraded road to village Kanda worth Rs. 2.27 crore, link road Aroth worth Rs. 1.47 crore, Ahar-Barthani Ghati Kangal road worth Rs. 2.19 crore, Kachin Ghati-Nag road worth Rs. 20 lakh, forest rest house at Tanu Jubbar worth Rs. 76 lakh, Inspection Hut at Dhar Nag Jubbar worth Rs. 30 lakh and Patwar Bhawan at Jarol constructed at a cost of Rs. 12 lakh.
Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone of Ayurvedic dispensary building to be built at Rayog with a cost of Rs. 1.15 crore, Chagmore-Khargoti road worth Rs. 1.03 crore, Sednua-Damai Chajol Chamagna road Rs. 90 lakh, Changghar-Mohri road Rs. 66 lakh, Khaderi-Ghornu Narog road Rs. 74 lakh, drinking water scheme Kingal Khad-Shalota in Gram Panchayat Shalota Rs.3.22 crore, drinking water scheme Bahna Khad-Baragaon Rs.3.23 crore, Majroh Hathiya water supply scheme in Gram Panchayat Kangal and Mogra worth Rs.1.16 crore and inspection hut to be constructed in Shamukhar at a cost of Rs.20 lakh.
On this occasion, exhibitions based on the developmental journey of Himachal were also organized by various departments and documentaries of Information and Public Relations Department based on the state's glorious journey of 75 years were also displayed.
Local MLA Rakesh Singha welcomed the Chief Minister and said that the “Pragtisheel Himachal : Sthaapna ke 75 Varsh” program was an opportunity to remember the heroes of pre-independence along with the developmental journey of Himachal after independence. He also mentioned the developmental needs of the area.
APMC President Naresh Sharma gave details of the steps taken by the present state government in the interest of apple growers.
BJP's State Executive Member Sandipani Bhardwaj and Mahasu District President Ajay Shyam also welcomed the Chief Minister and presented the demands of area. They also thanked the Chief Minister for giving development projects worth crores to the area.
